There is an interim president, Adly Mansour, who most every feels is competent to lead such a government on a temporary basis, and Mohammad El Baradai, and dissidents and other are working with the military to work out a schedule for elections. The military acted at exactly the right time to prevent a degeneration into violence. A vacuum of action on the part of the government would have left the two competing sides, already in the streets, to have no better alternative than violence. No democrat wants to see another Syria.
