There is no better way to celebrate the change of the season than making memories and enjoying a fun-filled fall day at Beasley’s Heartland Apple Festival - now in its 28th year! This event has become a highly anticipated tradition in Hendricks County. Always held the first two weekends in October, this year’s event dates are Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 4-5 and Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 11-12 from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. all four days. There is so much fun happening all at once during this event! Beasley’s Heartland Apple Festival offers live music entertainment, an arts & crafts marketplace, wine tastings by local Indiana wineries, delicious food including pork burgers, grilled ribeye sandwiches, gourmet hot dogs, fried biscuits with homemade apple butter, the kids’ activity zone for all ages featuring a bounce house, inflatables and face painting, Ken’s Balloon Magic, delightful puppet shows by Adzooks Puppets, a giant hay mountain, hayrides to the pumpkin patch and the exciting 8-acre Cornopolis Corn Maze. Visitors won’t want to miss out on the award-winning fresh pressed apple cider and tasty hand-dipped caramel apples at the Old Barn Market, which dates to the 1860s! Beasley’s offers a hayride to remember. Running continuously each day, the tractor driven hayrides offer a scenic tour of the farm on the way to and from the 15-acre pumpkin patch. Beasley’s never ceases to be impressed each year by the amazing size of the pumpkins visitors find and haul back on the wagons from the pumpkin patch! Hayrides are offered every weekend in October. Live music will be performed throughout each day of the festival from the main stage. The first weekend, the band Acoustic Catfish will entertain our ears with their current folk and blues lineup. The second weekend, the Indiana Boys will bring us their toe-tapping acoustic Americana “roots music” with bluegrass influence. Beasley’s 2014 Corn Maze theme pays tribute to our great city of Indianapolis. This exciting maze is named Cornopolis with a design that highlights Monument Circle and the Indianapolis skyline! Beasley’s invites everyone to visit their farm in the country, and get lost in the city of Cornopolis! The maze is open now through Oct. 31 every Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sundays from noon-5 p.m. Visit once and you’ll return year after year for a day full of challenges and laughs! The Heartland Arts & Crafts Marketplace brings together over 30 high quality arts & craft artisans and merchants. From Halloween decor and tutus, wreaths and handcrafted woodwork to scented candles and tasty treats, there are all sorts of unique gifts and treasures to browse and purchase at the marketplace. Delicious food has become a tradition at the Heartland Apple Festival. You won’t want to miss out on the Hendricks County Pork Producer’s pork burgers, St. Augustine’s grilled ribeye sandwiches, Boy Scout Troop 302’s fried biscuits and homemade spiced apple butter, fresh kettle corn, and Hot Diggity Dogs’ gourmet hot dogs and delicious sandwiches. There is a $5 per vehicle parking fee during the event. For more information, visit Beasleys-Orchard or call (317) 745-4876.
