There is no debate in History. The facts and the events that unfold speak the whole truth. Ang Supremo ang unang pangulo ng Bayan ng Katagalugan. At that time the designation Katagalugan was used as representation of the whole archipelago as it was impossible to put all the other islands and islets into a juridical context, under colonial pressures and the crude formation of the nation state which was practically centered in the Luzon area at that time. The fact shows that there was a Filipino Nation under Supremo Andres Bonifacios leadership at the heart of the struggle against colonial rule. The use of the term Katagalugan is rather not intended to disparage other ethnolinguistic groupings all over the nation. It was only after the Treaty of Paris was signed that real territorial boundaries were defined ,and yet it was not a treaty meant to uphold our sovereign right but a treaty transferring colonial control from Spain to America over our territories. And Emilio Aguinaldo figured out only as pangulo (short-lived Malolos Republic) during the transition years between the Dec. 10, 1898 (signing of the treaty of Paris) until the formal US Schurman Commission (1901) entered the Philippine setting with the Bureau of Insular Affairs (BIA). https://youtube/watch?v=oY2szxw-Dr8
