There is no doubt that Linn R2 needs a new elementary school but consider this; the last levy increase that was on the ballot would have raised the property tax on my house between $500 and $600 and the proposed levy increase on next week’s ballot is approximately half of the last proposed increase. That’s between a $250 and $300 increase, substantially more than what is being presented. Now remember that actual value of a house and the assessed value are very different and figured on a complicated formula. My assessed valuation is $135,000 so everyone do your math.
