There is no evidence to back up suggestions on social media that a dog has been made ill by rat poison at Lydiard Park. Lydiard Park was contacted by one of our dog walkers to comment that her dog had been taken very ill and wished to investigate all options as to the possible source. The vets diagnosed toxic poisoning and one possibility suggested was rodenticide, or rat poison. We take these kind of reported incidents very seriously and undertook a thorough investigation into whether there may have been any link to Lydiard Park. As a Park open to the public, we have to be extremely careful about what we do, and what products we use in areas that are accessible to the public that may present a risk to them. Leaving rat poison out in the Park would clearly present such a risk and therefore is not something we would do under any circumstances. Our sincere best wishes are with the sick dog and its owner, and we hope for a full recovery. Please share this post
