There is no more famous convert to Jesus than Saul. His story is in Acts 9. Like many already “religious” people he lacked one essential piece to his faith and life – love. Before Jesus and His chosen band of earthly influencers descended on Saul he knew God’s truth, but he was gripped with anger and power. He saw himself as God’s purveyor of justice rather than as God’s servant, as a hammer rather than a band-aid. When Jesus entered and changed Saul’s heart all that knowledge, energy, drive and commitment he already possessed was channeled in a new a direction. Love is the way things get done in Jesus’ world. Take a moment and think about where there is too much “right religion” in your life (too much hammer) and not enough of Jesus’ love (band-aid) behind it. Pastor S
