There is no need for training to be a client versus trainer sort - TopicsExpress

There is no need for training to be a client versus trainer sort of situation. Just like in any long term interpersonal relationship there are going to be times when client and trainer dont see eye to eye or butt heads. They are going to have different perspectives. AND THATS TOTALLY OK. This is to be expected where there is honesty, respect and integrity. In fact there would be a problem if there wasnt. Healthy long term relationships are forged in this way. There will be challenges and ups and downs. You dont pay a trainer for them to agree with you and to only tell you what you want to hear. You pay them to get a result. Unless of course you want a paid best friend (and even best friends if they are real will call you out on stuff and challenge you, because they too have a differing perspective) or a cheerleader. This means sometimes you will disagree with what they have to say or even what they have you doing or the way to get to get to the goal. But often the reason why you are seeing them is you have a problem and what you were doing wasnt working. Perhaps its time to admit your way isnt the best way and its time to try someone elses. You have to respect them and the process and have faith in what you have employed them to do. A good training relationship cant work where as a client you only do what you want. We all strive for comfortability, normalcy and convenience. But progress is never these things. breakingmuscle/coaching-business/open-your-mind-and-say-yes-to-your-coach
