There is no nice way to put this: if you know Mike personally, Id strongly recommend getting in touch with him soon. His mental confusion is reaching the point where you wont be able to communicate with him before long, and he may not even remember you called. Ive asked repeatedly for his friends to call, because his social isolation is causing him to be very depressed. And yet, only one friend of ours has come to see him. If youre in town, I am happy to drive him to Abes or somewhere nearby to sit and have a soda or iced tea with you (he cant drink beer anymore). Due to his balance issues and other symptoms, hes not going to be able to get out and about much longer. You are also welcome here. You can reach me via email by replying to this message; send me your phone number if youre more comfortable having me call you to set up a time to see Mike. If youre not in town, please pick up the phone and call him! Mornings are best; thats when hes the most mentally clear. But, please, stop ignoring him. Yes, its awkward speaking on the phone to someone with mental confusion but, believe it or not, that kind of social stimulation actually HELPS him quite a bit.
