There is no problem with people raising questions, or illustrating concerns over any industry or invention. In fact, most of the time this process leads to greater efficiencies and advancements. The problem with Neil Young is that he uses his free megaphone to intentionally misinform those who would listen to in order to advance his elitist idea of a social order or remain relevant in pop culture. This is evident in that fact that he refuses to even have a civil sit down with the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) and learn more about the challenges and achievements of the industry he has concerns over. Imagine what could be accomplished if people like Young used their celebrity to truly inform and educate. Of course that would mean they would have to truly inform and educate themselves first which by all indications, is beneath most celebrates.
