There is no shortage of mind-numbing garbage on the Information - TopicsExpress

There is no shortage of mind-numbing garbage on the Information Superhighway. This blog from my dear friend David Register is a welcome respite indeed from the endless pages of content dumps and quizzes that tell me what Star Wars character I would be. Beautiful imagery captured on the job, in his downtime away from his family draws on beautiful, lonely desperation to use the artists words. The pictures are a travelogue of sorts and will take you to the places in cities you would never get to see and more likely not dare to visit. Davids images also draw inspiration from his father John Register, whos paintings are at once empty, yet thick with atmosphere, a strange sense of the uneasy and a thinnest coat of whimsy. Graphic and immersive. That is how I would describe the best of both Davids photos and his fathers paintings. The blog is fairly new but already full of images I could stare at for hours. And perhaps the surprising and delightful part of the whole experience is the writing. Short sparks of levity add a self aware and humorous touch to the experience and remind us that we might want to make just a little more out of our spare time. Check it out: reggieshoots/about/
