There is no shortage of world events that point to the coming of the tribulation. Most of which come as no surprise to any of us. So much so that I have not even needed to comment much on the news lately. That was until today. This is the type of event that many will gloss over, never realizing the absolute prophetic implications that could come as a result. Daniel 11:23-25 KJV - And after the league made with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people. He shall enter peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers fathers; he shall scatter among them the prey, and spoil, and riches: yea, and he shall forecast his devices against the strong holds, even for a time. And he shall stir up his power and his courage against the king of the south with a great army; and the king of the south shall be stirred up to battle with a very great and mighty army; but he shall not stand: for they shall forecast devices against him. The first major achievement of the Antichrist - after the seven accord with Israel - will be the annexation of Saudi Arabia, and its vast reserves of oil wealth. He will literally walk through the front door, with the red carpet rolled out. The Saudi Royal family will do something that no one has ever been able to convince them to do: Give up control. That is something that simply does not happen overnight. It happens months in advance, behind closed doors - with promises of power granted in return. There s a reason the Bible tells us that the Antichrist deals in deception. The vast wealth from Saudi oil will serve two purposes: First, it will fund the growing Islamic war machine of the Antichrist and the scriptures above tell us. Second - and more insidious - it will become the financial engine of an Islamic economy that brings what is left of Europe to its knees. After the devastation of the soon return of the Lord and the gathering together, the back of the west will be broken. The only chance for those nations left behind will be to crawl before an Islamic Middle East that actually came through the rapture relatively unscathed. The price for the Islamic oil money? Think France - with the western governments actually turning their heads at the slaughter that comes from the hands of Islam. Whats worse - as we see from Revelation chapters 17 and 18, the western world actually turns 180 degrees and jumps on board and in bed with its Muslim masters. Watch Saudi Arabia very closely over the next couple of months. They could be an unintended barometer of the end times calendar.
