This means that to face something that scares you half to death, or to come very close to death, without being injured at all. Some people feel that it is exhilarating to face their biggest fear or to look death in the eye and not blink. Today my wife Darla faced down one of her biggest fears, shes been so afraid of guns that we couldnt even have one in the house. Look at her now, way to go Dar!
