There is nothing quite like sneaking into the bathroom at work to bawl your eyes out over the stunning generosity of friends and strangers alike. I started this day off soul-sick and disheartened, and it is ending with me feeling as though Ive just won the lottery. And in a way, I have...Ive won the best and most precious lottery prize in the world: the sure and certain knowledge that my actions have not only helped those less fortunate than myself, but have also inspired others to do the same. My eyes are red and bloodshot, Im sniffling like Im in a Claritin commercial (the before part), and my face is rather unattractively streaked with tears - but who cares? My kids are going to get what they need, and thats the only thing Im worried about. So, whether you sent $10, $100, $1,000, or somewhere in between, just know that you are forever in my heart! YOUR generosity, which many of you say I have inspired, will inspire me in turn to keep struggling and fighting.
