There is so much more to owning and operating a successful predator hunting guide business. There is not much money it and one learns to be self sufficient. Way beyond blowing a call, one has to be a business manager, marketer, book keeper, public relations, tax adviser, call builder, sound recorder, graphic artist, photographer, video camera man, producer, director, actor, shipping agent, welder, fabricator, mechanic, dog trainer, land manager, animal skinner, etc... The list goes on and on..... Luckily, I have a very small group of close friends that bail me out when I have hunting rig mechanical issues, flat tires, etc... Out of the blue, Im having issues with my latest hunting rig (the one with the greyhounds and coyote painted on the side). Luckily, it happened just a couple miles from my house and I could limp it home and my client and I jumped in a backup rig. After spending a few hours on the internet, searching for advice to what could be the problem, I read story after story of guy replacing countless parts and electronics, trying to solve the problem. That is just not in the budget, nor is it a smart business decision. So....after 20 minutes or so on eBay, I am now the owner of a ODB2 Car Engine Fault Diagnostic Scanner with Live Data feed, so I can diagnose my own problems on my vehicles. Itll be here Thursday and will greatly help evaluate issues and help me get my rigs back on the roads for my clients. I guess shade tree mechanic is moving higher up on my list of duties. LOL
