There is so much truth in this piece. But this part especially hits home for me: I am grateful for the nights he holds me while I cry for hours for no reason. I am thankful that he puts up with my random periods of irritability. He constantly attempts to comfort me if I am suddenly uncomfortable when we’re out in public. It is *because* I was already worthy of love that I could be brought to a point of being *able* to love myself. To anyone I may know struggling with this: you are worthy of love. Never let anyone tell you that you have to love yourself before someone else can love you. Its just not true. No, its not easy on either side of that relationship, but of the things in this world that can called easy, sustaining love isnt one of them.
