There is something incredibly edifying about hearing someones legitimate point of view being articulated and delivered in a way that is clear, concise and irrefutable. This board honestly expected some DUMB JOCKS to be the ones attempting to represent themselves, UNEFFECTIVELY. They expected individuals who were young and unfocused and that their inexperience in such matters would make them distracted enough for the members of the board to steer and manipulate the conversation in any matter they saw fit. However, what they actually ended up with, was a young black man who is an academic goliath and well prepared to not just meet them on their own terms, on their own platform and in their own house, but also command and capitalize on this opportunity to not just express and explain his point of view, but to completely justify and legitimize his argument in such a way that it left the board members literally slack jawed!
