There is something more than meets the eye in Ben Hur Luys decision to drop his erstwhile lawyer In the PDAF scam, Levito Baligod. The reason given is that Baligod is so pre-occupied w/ other cases he is handling that he is already being remiss in his obligation of counseling for Luy. But the lawyer flatly denies his clients allegations asserting that he has never been remiss in his duties to act as legal counsel for him. There have been reports of contrasting decisions between Luy & Baligod in planning their strategies for court battle plus misunderstanding between the latter & DOJ Sec. Leila de Lima in terms of presentation of new witnesses. Be that as it may, guess who is the happiest person in this development? Sen. Jingoy Estrada, of course. I think they are disintegrating, he said. It will be good for us because that shows that their evidence is weak. I think this is one of the loopholes of having too many armaments in ones arsenal. It speaks of useless superfluity. Things become more complicated & convoluted the more witnesses are lined up most of whom were major participants in plundering the peoples money & are only after their absolution from the crime that they have beforehand admitted. De Lima & the palace may have been winning lately in their relentless campaign to destroy the reputations & political career of those personalities accused in the crime but the true triumph is only attained if the perpetrators are sent to jail & the peoples money are recovered from them. Other than that, the on-going senate proceedings are but futile exercise to seek justice. More have to be done to build an air-tight case against the accused & not just presenting a slew of whistleblowers & witnesses. And so Leila, shun off the limelights & the political circus for now & just prepare for the real court battle. You & the Ombudsman have a Herculean task ahead of you. We are w/ you in quest for justice. Not unless you have some hidden agenda percolating in your mind.
