There is something that comes with corporate prayers.Whenever we meet as a church,Gods presence comes down and we get to connect with God as a body and other members of the body of Christ .Jesus said where two or three are gathered in my name, there Im in their midst. [Matthew 18:20]. The bible still encourages us to consider how we may spur one another towards love and good deeds and not give up on meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. [Hebrews 10:24-25] When Asaph was facing discouraging moments in his Christian walk, in psalm 73, he wonders why unbelievers were prospering, yet him, with his faith in God,his life was heading the other direction. He says he nearly backslide, but thanks to God, confesses, till I entered the sanctuary of God,then I understood their final destiny.Surely you place them on slippery ground;you cast them down to ruin. How suddenly are they destroyed, completely swept away by terrors![psalm 73:17-19] Brethren, the worst thing to do to yourself is not attend church just because you are distressed and with unanswered prayers from the Lord. Suppose Asaph didnt go to church that day, definitely psalms 73 would be a sorry book. When you read it from verse 1-16,you see his agony, complain and frustrations, but after attending church in verse 17 and above,we see a liberated brother who is full of God and less of the world. He later sings praises to God and his troubles seem to become dim all the way. Before Jesus left,he commanded the disciples to wait on him corporately, and when he came through for them, the holy spirit fell on them also as cooperate body.[Acts 2]. Praying as an individual is good but for you to have full success and victory over the the enemy, corporate praying is necessary.Samuel understood this concept fully. When Israel was under attack from the philistines, the bible says he “Assembled all Israel at Mizpah, to intercede to the Lord for them. [1 Samuel 7:5] The unimaginable happened,When the Philistines heard that Israel had assembled at Mizpah, the rulers of the Philistines came up to attack them. When the Israelites heard of it, they were afraid because of the Philistines. They said to Samuel, “Do not stop crying out to the Lord our God for us, that he may rescue us from the hand of the Philistines.” Then Samuel took a suckling lamb and sacrificed it as a whole burnt offering to the Lord. He cried out to the Lord on Israel’s behalf, and the Lord answered him. While Samuel was sacrificing the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to engage Israel in battle. But that day the Lord thundered with loud thunder against the Philistines and threw them into such a panic that they were routed before the Israelites. The men of Israel rushed out of Mizpah and pursued the Philistines, slaughtering them along the way to a point below Beth Kar.Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the Lord has helped us. [1 Samuel 7:5-11] Saint of God, Ebenezer or “Thus far the Lord has helped us is a proclamation that came after Gods victory to corporate prayers. You dont need to miss church just because youre discouraged, have issues and battles youre fighting with. All you need is to run to the house of God.God always has a word for us when were together as congregation.Never be lied to about the TV MINISTRY.Yes,its good but it does not replace corporate gathering of believers as God instructed it.Whenever youre troubled, run to the house of God,and as Asaph, you will come out singing to the Lord in praise.God bless you
