There is that old classic: If a tree falls in the forest and no - TopicsExpress

There is that old classic: If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound? This comes to mind as I ponder this weeks College Football Lineup. If a fan in Norman whines and nobody pays attention does it matter? Matters only in that said Fan requires his weekly flogging at the hands of the Master in order to know his proper place! But fear not Undergoats, you dont play today, so how can you lose? Well when Oklahoma State beats West Virginia, that kind of makes it an OU loss too, Nuff said! In wake of the Academic Scandal at North Carolina christen today the Day of the Student Athlete (in my best Dr. Evil Sarcastic Voice), It does seem rather ironic that Tar Heels travel to Virginia to play the Cavaliers, a school rich in Academic History. Of course irony has been lost on a lot in our world today and since we are talking about student athletes, I suspect that the Tar Heels student athletes are better than the Cavs and they will likely pull off the upset today. Speaking of Rich Academic History, Texas visits New York Mini Me to play the K-State Emaw Cats. K-State has way better JC Athletes than Texas and should win, provided there is no let down from last weeks win over Undergoat! Maybe that is what is wrong with OU, too many guys going to class and not enough attending practice. There are some schools that each year get overlooked by the sports media because they are not in the big 5 conferences or because the schools are considered 2nd tier, but Uncle Jump would like to send out some love to East Carolina, Georgia Southern and Marshall for the strong showing they are putting on on the football field. These teams are playing some good football and have made their fans and bettors a bit happier this year. The important question is could OU beat any of them? Some rivalry games today in the SEC, Big Ten and PAC 12. Spam travels to College Station to play Penn State. Spam is favoured by 14, Spam gets served some much needed crow as Penn State pulls off the major upset of the day!! Michigan travels up state to play Sparty. Will the Spartan Student section show up and stay for this in state rivalry game? They should cuz Sparty is going to spank the young wolverines! The odds makers are putting it at 8-1 that the Mississippi Schools will both be unbeaten by the time they play each other next month. Jump would make those odds much longer, cuz today Mississippi will probably lose at LSU, however a Caveat: If Mississippi wins I will bet they go to the national Championship game. Mississippi State goes to Lexington to play Kentucky. This is a classic trap game for State. I expect Kentucky will give them a run for their money today. In the Pac 12, the Favourites have some tough challenges. Look for USC to win at Utah Colorado to make life tough for UCLA, but the Bruins will win by 6 Stanford to have its hands full of Beavers (you know what trees fear the most) And Arizona is on upset alert at Wazzu! Oh and did you know, K-State beat OU in Norman last week in case you missed it! Jump Out!
