There is this idea that we need competition, that we must have it. This idea that we have to be motivated by fear to be losers and not winners attaining the picture of success and consensus that it brings outwardly. Competition can be fine when it is technical, when there is not identification in it, like playing a videogame, but always creates disasters, stupidities, and illusory conflicts when applied psychologically and existentially, trying to use it as an indicator of self-worth or existential value whatsoever. Even in the case that one achieves some success, he or she will always fear to lose it, and it will never be enough. It’s so clear how competition as we see it, is just a product of our society and culture, as well as fear and confusion, rather than our free intelligence liberated from all conditionings. There cannot be any elevated intelligence nor radical understanding where there is competition existentially and psychologically, just the same borders, separation, beliefs, identities, and miseries as seen throughout history. A free mind no longer has the compulsive urge to appear ‘smart’ and compete psycho-existentially so to get some consensus. No longer being possessed by this false need to appear better so to fabricate some self-esteem, it rises out of such pettiness and simply cares about understanding and dissolving confusion. Think about these things...
