There needs to be a call to action against people who decide the Prep Time on recipes. You guys, these people are big, fat liars. Or they have 8 hands that wash, chop, and stir in no time. I just made this recipe and I didnt even peel the potatoes because my kids can rough it with mashed potatoes with skins (just add more butter- the answer to everything really). It says this recipe should take 15 minutes; it took me 30 minutes just to wash and peel the vegetables. When my children turn up their noses at this labor of love, I will lose it. I will talk about starving children and mothers who never, ever make meals and children who were forced to eat hot dogs for eternity. And then I will tell them about the big, fat Prep Time liars and how they should never, ever lie about something so important. Then I will say sorry and ask them to find the one thing on their plate that they can deal with and I will tell them just to eat that. And then I will wait thirty years and listen to them have this same conversation with their own children, god willing.
