There probably wont be any pix put up today working on art :) Have a big week this week I have been invited to a couple of functions with the Australia China Commission then on Thursday I will be taking a trip to The Great Wall. I love this place the people are cool, everything is soooo cheap and the beer is 51 cents per 600ml bottle. On average to eat very well around my village, it will cost around $6 for two to three course yummy meal including beers! I realised the other day as I was chomping away on lunch that I wasnt even thinking about my use of the chop sticks it had become second nature. Had to use a spoon at an Indonesian restaurant yesterday in the old Hutong area of town and that felt slightly alien. Usually my day starts with a bike ride up to the village to pick up my freshly made breakfast dumplings, then home to fresh coffee and dumplings, yummy 50 cents for breakfast. Lunch I usually have with the local workers in a kitchen dinning room set up in my studio complex. Lunch will almost always be some deliciously fresh dish with steamed buns, a broth of sorts, rice two mains meat and veggie one, sweets and they always give you fruit to go. All this for 10 yuan $1.70 Australian. I will be having an exhibition of my progress in the residency program on the 26th along with the other artists here, I will have to get busy from now on.
