There seems to be a notion that sound teaching supersedes the operation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. But where there is no room for the gifts of the Holy Spirit, there is self-evidently no room for the living word of God, even if you may have sound exposition of Scripture. Because sound teaching combined with the gifts of the Holy Spirit produces the ideal environment for a living word of the Lord. Then again, if the operation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit is not facilitated in the local church, whatever they receive as teaching cannot be sound; for had it been sound, it would have facilitated the operation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. For how can teaching be sound if it excludes what God has given to the church? Have a nice day
