There seems to be some confusion about the ongoings in Kessab. Malicious people have been posting false news and misinformation and using the word genocide lightly. To be very clear, the community of Kessab is not one to cry wolf, nor are we over-dramatic but it would be imperative if people would report facts only. The facts are: Kessab has been forced to flee leaving everything behind; homes have been looted and burned; churches have been desecrated and their crosses destroyed; rebels have taken over the village; families have been displaced and are living in churches and schools and some have even sought refuge in neighboring countries. None of these events are a joke, nor are they acceptable circumstances for our people ever! Any Armenian who belittles this situation and spreads lies and distortions just to hurt the credibility of our people should be ashamed of themselves. Regardless, the Armenians from Kessab are in need of help. Imagine just for a moment if you and your family were forcefully removed from your home with nothing but the clothes on your back and your home destroyed. Im appalled at the indifference Ive been seeing from our very own.
