There should be a bigger emphasis on the requirements and upkeep - TopicsExpress

There should be a bigger emphasis on the requirements and upkeep of being an officer of the law. Correct me if Im wrong, but, doctors, nurses, and lawyers are all required to obtain some sort of licensing before theyre allowed to practice medicine or law in their state. Wouldnt it make sense if Cops were examined and reevaluated on an annual or semiannual basis in order to preserve their status as enforcers of the law? I read a great idea earlier today that suggested we should require officers to purchase malpractice insurance, and as these situations like the death of unarmed citizens and beatings of non threatening homeless people arise, the malpractice lawsuits would drive the cost of insurance up, making officers of the law more likely to think before they act so they wouldnt lose their enforcement license or get hit with hefty penalties from insurance companies. Malpractice insurance and enforcement licenses for Cops, someone make that happen or tell me why it wouldnt work.
