There things we take for granted. Like living in the mountains, we have no trouble getting apples almost year round. What we dont have is green peanuts--we NEVER have green peanuts for good boiled peanuts. Locals boil raw peanuts which, if you know anything about good boiled peanuts, is not the thing to do. I have tried ordering as much as a bushel of green peanuts from merchants at the WNC Farmers Market (the best FM in the South). No dice. Bought green peanuts in Mississippi four years ago. That was our last boiled peanuts. Today I am shopping in the grocery store which gives the best gas credits and what to my surprise--GREEN PEANUTS. I stopped, stared, thought about it, and bought as many as a double bag will hold. They are on the stove now full of salt--boiling. I am a happy misplaced North Floridian.
