There use to be this saying among d allied nations who fought Germany in two world wars, that generally goes thus : why did we fight Germany in d first place and did everything humanly possible,including dividing it into two, to curtail d country from exhibiting supreme tendencies when (in actual fact) years after WW II, a war waged to set d country back and make it equal to d rest of Europe,they are (yet) today, d biggest economy in Europe (and just d third biggest in d whole world,having only been recently overtaken by China) and still dominate in virtually every field of human endeavour, medicine being a very pivotal area and example. . This feeling became very rife among d old allies especially in d critical periods of d late 90s and d new millenium when Germany took pivotal position in d Eurozone and dictated d tune in other spheres... Now such a feeling should come alive again as d Germans just confirmed their supremacy by winning d FIFA World Cup for d fourth time,dis time,in even breathtaking manner
