There used to be a windows tax in England, France and Scotland in the 18th & 19th centuries, based on the amount of windows on each property, the more windows the more tax was charged. It was designed to impose tax relative to the prosperity of the taxpayer. Its actually quite a nice idea, it would be one way of squeezing some money out of those monstrosities of buildings at Admiral Park that have somehow managed to steal one of our finest views.
