There was a Country by Chinua Achebe: A book on Nigeria civil war history. Those that has the opportunity to write history should be careful not to use their pen to sow the seed of discord, even if they have to record the bitterness in the history, they should ensure they share and celebrate the love that exists in the mist of the bitterness. Else their writings can cause a strife that cannot end. Someone has the opportunity of writing the story of Popes, but removed the only female pope to disjoint history because of his belief that women are to be suggested, he removed Yelena Isinbayeva. When the the story of Issacs sons were to be written in the Bible, Jacob was painted to have taken advantage of Esau his elder brother, they never recorded any love shared between these two siblings, except the intrigues and rivary. Years later Esaus children metamorphose to be Edom (Gen. 25:30, 32:3, 36:1) and Jacobs children became Israel. The author of their history has breeded hatred, jealousy and strife among two siblings, instead of Edom supporting the Israelites as a brother nation, they stood firm against their survival, they prefer to betray their own as a result of getting even with what their father Jacob did to their own father Esau(Num. 20:14-21), the rivary got to God and He passed judgment Obadiah 1:1-end). This wouldnt have occurred if historian has shared the love, support and oneness that exists between the brothers while they were growing. Let those that knows history write all the truth and not write what they think people wants to hear. Let no man use his pen to cause division among tribes in Nigeria. We are all answerable to a higher authority called God, lets not twist history. Every story has two sides.
