There was a Mexican, an Egyptian and a Personian... Wait, thats starting to sound like some kind of a joke. Let me start over. There was a Greek Orthodox, a Roman Catholic and an Evangelical... Wait, um...that sounds like the beginning to a bad joke, too. But, none of the above is the beginning to a joke. Its all serious, and all good. Today, as Executive Director of YFC, I was called on to minister to people from three radically different traditions. Each is a long story, and I dont know that I have the liberty to share much about either or each, but I marvel that God moves and works in the way He does. I want to honor Him with thanks and praise. In the end, in each case, we were able to pray together and to thank God that He has come to walk among us, and, more so, that His ascension and the Spirits coming led to our filling. We live in a small town, rich with more Christian heritage than we often take time with differing people to enjoy. Thank God that He calls, enables us to come, uses us as vessels and manifests Himself to His people in their times of need and discomfort. Yes, on this Eve of Christmas, I can rejoice. I did not plan to work today, but the Spirit beckons, leads and compels. Yes, beloved friends, I rejoice to be a prisoner of the Gospel. I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call—one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. (Ephesians 4:1-6 ESV)
