There was a black woman who lived right here in Baltimore, who is immortal, Well at lease her cells are, she died from In 1951. Her name was Henrietta Lacks. The cells from her body were taken from her just before she died. They have been growing and multiplying ever since and have been used to change the world especially in medicine. There are now billions of these cells in laboratories around the world even today as we speak.
