There was a couple of minutes yesterday that I thought my life might end. So of course I had to record it! haha Flying into Tacloban, the plane suddenly took a very sharp turn to the right which alarmed everyone. The lady beside me clutched her tray. Then it turned to the left (which is when I started recording), then back to the right, then again to the left as if it was trying to correct itself! We kept getting closer and closer to the water Even as we straightened out our flight path the plane rocked from side to and I seriously thought it was a possibility we were going to land on the water, so I was grateful when the land appeared. Youll see that the landing was pretty rough! Unfortunately the video doesnt give the perspective very well as we were much closer to the water than it appears. As we come over land, the greenery is just shrubs not trees. Since I had never flown into Tacloban before I figured the low approach over the water was normal but the lady sitting by me told me that she flies twice a month to various places for her work and has NEVER seen the plane get that close to the water. I told her that I tried to appear calm but my heart was actually pounding. She said something about me stating that we were just turning and I told her I was just trying to reassure her that everything was OK. But she knew better since she has landed there many times before! Then she asked me so you were trying to keep me calm but your heart was pounding?” I replied Yes! Not much phases me but I’ll admit that was kind of scary!!!
