There was a discussion on here awhile back about the new law that went into effect July 1st...that landlords could not refuse to rent to people because they had Section 8 housing....I knew there would be a way around it and they would find a way to keep people with section 8 from renting from them....I have been looking for a place to move for awhile now, and some of the places that were within the amount I could spend for rent, are now over the amount allowed.......such as a 2 bedroom section 8 voucher can go to $830. per month including rent and utilities.....so they raise the rent alone to $850, and housing wont go that high for rent, so they get away with not renting to section 8 housing holders anyway.....Does this seem fair? Hell no, but nothing we can do about it......they found a way around the law....
