There was a man named J.R.R. Tolkien and on a day like yesterday - TopicsExpress

There was a man named J.R.R. Tolkien and on a day like yesterday in September 1941 he wrote a poem. A poem that marked the beginning of Arda aka Middle-earth. A poem that led to the birth of masterpieces in High fantasy like The Lord of The Rings, The Silmarllion and many more. It was a day that made Tolkien create an entirely new world and invite us to live. A creation including races, and a big amount of completed languages like Sindarin, Quenya, Telerin etc for Elves, Khuzdul for Dwaves, Black speech and many more. A creation that inspired a large number of people including authors like George.R.R.Martin and many more around the world. I just thought of sharing this. Namárië or Galadriels lament. Also known as the Song of the elves beyond the sea. I have to admit that this is the best Tolkien inspired music that I came across lately. Galadriels lament was originally set to music by Dodald Swann and there are many versions of this. This one is composed by a Norwegian composer, Martin Romberg and his vision on this Tolkiens piece of work is beautiful. He gathered medieval singers, a girl choir and used two harps to give life to his vision on Tolkiens writings. Not to mention this is the longest Quenya text in The Lord of The Rings. Check out his other works too.
