There was a movie made a while back called Pay It Forward, in which Haley Joel Osments character does good deeds for various people as an experiment, and it continues spreading until good will becomes infectious. It also stars the illustrious, Helen Hunt. And then Haley Joel Osment dies at the end (Spoiler!).
