There was a nice bit of snow that fell last night, not enough to - TopicsExpress

There was a nice bit of snow that fell last night, not enough to do anything with, but it sure is pretty. Becky informs me the roads are treacherous and sections of 45 and 46 are temporarily closed. If youre a local you might wait until it warms up this afternoon before you head out. In her wisdom, my daughter-in-law Margo has vetoed our planned get together with Travis. All of them are well for the first time in weeks, and she would like to keep it that way. Not much I can do about this, except get better. Im cruising into that delightful mid point in virus land. Gravity has played its role and now Im coughing up a storm. This is when its most polite to stay away from everyone. Im always amazed when I encounter someone coughing their guts out in public. Why not offer free TB to the masses? Ive decided not to do that, and Im holed up here at the ranch until Im no longer infectious. I wanted to move some firewood to the stack. Even though the ground was frozen, the top inch or so wasnt. Ive had some experience trying to navigate on the snot layer, and its better to wait. When all four tires break traction, and soft earth is spinning into the air, its not likely your going get where youre going. I learned this the hard way, so now all I have to do is check it out with my boot and avoid exciting hours with a come-along. I had a notion for a last minute x-mass gift and settled into the shop to work on it. I doubt the person its intended for would find out what it is from my page, but a good elf keeps his mouth shut. I found the parts and began the restoration. The objects in question date back to WW 2 and sadly theyve seen some abuse along the way. As the family archivist I suppose its my fault, I can only hope to redeem my self by repairing them. I found some eccentrics from California who make Didgeridoos. While its not hard to find folks like that from the left coast, a simple starter model satiable for a grandchild isnt easy to come by. To be sure there are zillions of Didgeridoos on the net, but these folks are players and they come highly recommended. It was surprisingly inexpensive and it appears to be well made. Theres an instructional CD and booklet that gives some hope to learning circular breathing, and maybe, eventually being able to play the thing. Naturally the first thing I wanted to do was play it. Then I thought about seeding the contraption with my infectious slobber, and decided to hold off. So far we have water drums, keyboard, and a Didgeridoo, I wish I had a grandpa who was into this stuff. Actually my grandpas were into lots of things, just not making music. Bless their Baptist hearts, my Swedish grandparents wouldnt even dance. Ive also been eying a child size kayak Im thinking about building. Apparently theres no reasonable limit to being grandpa, and I have to keep reminding myself, hes only going to be five.
