There was a poor man who lived days on end without food, so he decided to go on the streets hoping he would get something to eat. When he was walking along the street he found a beautiful diamond necklace-very expensive, he collected it and continued his journey but unfortunately he found nothing to eat. He went home and decided to sell the necklace but he remembered that it was not his and the owner might have been looking for it. He went back into the street hoping he would find someone looking for it but to no avail. He gave the necklace to someone else at K5000 and decided to use part of the money to buy food and others for business so that he would sustain himself. He thought of venturing into fish business and he rode a boat alongside other passengers to get to the other side of the sea where fish was cheaper. On the way, in the middle of the sea, the boat capsized and everyone except him drowned because he held onto one piece of the boat which led him to the shore. The inhabitants of the island could not read and write but this man was able to. When he discovered that the people were illiterate, he started teaching them and after some years the people became literate and he was respected man in the community. The inhabitants of the island told him that there was a girl orphan in the community who he could marry and take care of, so he agreed after some resistance. The culture of the community was that when a man wants to marry, they would only see the girl on the wedding day, he patiently waited until the wedding day. The girl was the most beautiful in the whole community but the people were surprised that instead of the man looking at the girl as was the norm, he was looking at the neck-the girl was wearing the necklace he found on the street some years ago. People asked him why he was looking at the neck and he explained the ordeal, and he was later told that the father of the beautiful girl was very rich and when he was sick he lost that expensive diamond necklace and prayed to God that whosoever will find that necklace will be the one to marry his daughter and inherit all his wealth. The teaching is, everything happens for a reason.......
