There was a time when Democrats supported ... via the WPA, the Rural Electrification Act, and countless other programs ... the health and well-being of people in rural America. That all changed when the Democratic Party was captured by the environmental movement. Now, Democrats use the environment to beat the crap out of rural areas whether there is a real problem or not. Since Carter, Democrats have been purposely at odds with rural America, so it is no mistake that primarily only cities and their coastal environs are blue these days. While both parties are losing people to Independents, rural Democrats are becoming especially rare, and there is no end in sight as long as Democratic leaders keep up the preachy were all gonna die according to the scientists mantra.
