There was a time when I was very concerned that I was harboring unforgiveness in my heart. I was very conncerned for selfish reasons. I knew that it would hinder my relationship with Christ. I turned to someone who I felt had great spiritual wisdom. I asked them how I would know if I had forgven that person or not. They asked me this, "If that person came to you right now and asked you to pray for them for whatever reason, would you? could you? I instantly knew that I could not turn them away if they had a prayer need. This might not be the standard that everyone uses in order to know if they have forgiven someone or not, but for me, it has become my standard :-)
