There was a time when we as Americans celebrated freedom of speech and expression. There was also a time when people use to say that sticks and stones would break the bones, but names will never hurt you. Today, it is different. Not only have Americans become overly sensitive, but they get so offended at speech and expression that it is incredible. Case in point: a high school graduate and valavitorian thanked God and said a prayer at a graduation ceremony, and the principal, because of this, said that he was going to do what was in his or her power to make sure that that young man would not be accepted in the Naval Academy. Another example happened when a child in a public school ate a pop tart and made it in the shape of a gun and started playing with it. That child was suspended and given a bad mark. I do not know about you. I have had enough of political correctness. Political correctness if an affront not only to speech and expression, but to thought, conscience and decency. It has to be destroyed as an idea and a concept, otherwise it will continue to affect liberty.
