There was nothing in this world like buying an album, rushing - TopicsExpress

There was nothing in this world like buying an album, rushing home, putting it on a good quality system, and reading the liner notes while taking a journey with your favorite artist. I feel sorry for the ones out there that have no clue what high quality music actually sounds like. I have a very esoteric home system now. It is like my sonic microscope. I am able to hear every nuance in great detail. Im not very impressed with what I hear in 95% of todays recordings. Lost overtones, distortion (esp. upper mid-range), no dynamics, lousy stereo image, EVERYTHING THE SAME VOLUME...somebody stop me! In this age of amazing technology, we should be seeing an improvement in the quality of what we listen to. But weve been fed sonic garbage for so long, we dont know the difference between what we had (analog bliss), what we have now (compressed junk), and what we could have again (high-quality digital format) if we wanted to have it. This short video explains what Ive been trying to tell people for over a decade. Your music sucks!
