There was once a man condemned to the electric chair because he - TopicsExpress

There was once a man condemned to the electric chair because he had killed several people. He deserved to die. The man’s mother made a last request before they executed her son. The mother’s request was to let him be with her before his death and to take him out in a black gown so that his face would not be shown when he died. The department agreed to it and when the man’s day to die came they did exactly as asked. After they killed the man they took off the robe. To their surprise it was not the man. The mother had put on the robe instead to die in his place to pay for what he had done. Jesus did that and much more for us. He took our place. He was beaten, spit on, and crucified for us. I don’t think there is a greater love than this. “God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved” (John 3:17, NKJV).
