There were 461 police killings in America last year. Only a few police, if any, were ever charged. Police killings in other countries can be counted on one hand. The parents of Michal Brown are bringing the problem to world attention. They are in Switzerland testifying about how their son was killed. One problem is the grand jury is controlled by the District Attorney who doesn’t hold the police accountable. The public no longer has access to the grand jury as it once did. The best way to restore confidence is to place the grand jury under control of a judge in open court with public access.
