There were a lot of exciting projects on City Councils agenda last night! City Council awarded a bid for the construction of the State Route 13 Sidewalk Project, which will range from Mudbrook Road, along Main Street to the US 6 intersection. This project is scheduled to be completed this fall. Second, City Council adopted a Resolution of Intent to enter into a cooperative agreement with the City of Vermilion and Erie County to apply for grant dollars from the State of Ohio Local Government Innovation Fund. The grant would fund a feasibility study for a regionalized approach to water filtration and distribution between the three entities, with the intent of providing high quality water to the greatest amount of people in the most cost effective manner. Finally, City Council authorized the beginning stages of the Fabens Park Trail Project, which will be financed in part through a grant awarded to the City earlier this year. The City will be installing ADA compliant paths that will interconnect all of the fields at Fabens. Construction should begin in early 2015 as soon as weather permits.
