There were mixed emotions at the Binterstadion following the final - TopicsExpress

There were mixed emotions at the Binterstadion following the final whistle last night. Binter Milan battled their way to an impressive 12-11 victory over league leaders Hardly Athletic however, due to a three goal penalty for their late arrival walked away with nothing. Early Pressure from HA saw them go one ahead with their second shot on target, but the Bints fought hard for an equaliser from Jamario The Binterceptor Wrightello. Before long they found themselves leading 4-1 with goals from Wrightello and Whitelawnmower. Smitteldinho returned to first team action after a three week absence and immediately proved to be a nuisance to the HA defence. Mattaldo also returned to the squad in place of veteran Joel Woodowski who is still fighting to regain full match fitness. It was a close contest throughout with HA playing with a high line at times causing Binter great trouble in pressing forward. However, this also proved to be their weakness as time and again Binter caught them on the counter attack and for the most part took full advantage of their chances. Andinho Loco once again found himself between the sticks, a position which he has grown into in recent weeks and again put in a stellar performance making countless heroic saves to defy HAs best efforts. With Allan Mcgregor unavailable for the upcoming friendlies with USA and Norway through injury, one can only assume that Gordon Strachan will be considering Andinho as a potential candidate to replace him. Binters defence also proved to be their weakest area though, with key men Paulinho and scandalous Roybinho both missing, players struggled to adapt to more defensive roles which allowed HA star player Yellow Boy to cause all kinds of problems for Andinho Loco. Jorgen Fritzhammer started as the man at the back but due to a nasty cough was soon replaced by Jiminho Claytona. Jiminho put in a fair shift at the back defying Yellow Boy and Old Guy on several occassions. However, when pressing forward to his more natural position his performance wasnt quite as impressive. Several misplaced passes and a cascade of efforts off target, will no doubt have him fighting for a place up front now that that star striker Danielo Smitteldinho is back. His worst miss came when Whitelawnmower played a beautiful through ball down the centre of the pitch which with one majestic touch Jiminho left Small Lad flatfooted and struck at goal. His shot was saved but the rebound landed perfectly for Jiminho to slot home, unfortunately he couldnt resist taking the opportunity to belt the ball of the goalkeepers face. He soon redeemed himself by finally grabbing a goal once again on his supposedly weaker left foot which smashed off the bar and into the bottom corner of the net. Whitelawnmowers long awaited return to the team was marked with several goals and assists in a display which may have manager Royfael Brownitez considering him for a more permanent role in the team. As impressive his performance was man of the match had to go to Andinho Loco not just for his heroics between the sticks but for his motivational speeches and his continuous use of the phrase WELL IN. It is extremely unfortunate that the Bints didnt even take a point in the end but they can take a lot from that performance. It was after all a victory on the night and so they remain in many peoples eyes the team to beat in the Championship and are now six games unbeaten. Next week Royfael will have a full strength team to pick from which will surely see the return of stoppers Paulinho and scandolous Roybinho but with so many attackers available who will make the final cut? One thing is for sure they will turn up on time. FORZA BINTER
