There will be a swearing-in ceremony tonight - New Year’s Eve - in the second floor courtroom at the Columbia County Courthouse. At midnight, newly-elected officials will be sworn into office for their terms beginning in 2015. According to County Clerk Sherry Bell, she will swear in David Talley as the new circuit judge of the 13th Judicial District. Talley will then swear in other officials. Newly-elected officials taking office in 2015 include Phyllis Disotell, circuit clerk; Selena Blair, county treasurer; David Butler (currently a deputy prosecutor), district prosecutor for the 13th Judicial District; Patricia Doss Glover, Waldo mayor; Terrie Triplet, McNeil mayor; Margie Standoak, Waldo alderman; Steve Crowell, Magnolia alderman; Robbie Nash and Terry Williams, justices of the peace on the Columbia County Quorum Court.
