Much of the work can be done alone at your computer or smart phone without ever seeing a co-worker, depending upon the line of business you’re in. But the truth is, people need interaction with others, not just to get the job done, but also to fulfill the needs of being human. People do their jobs better when they know someone genuinely cares about them and their work. Have you reached out to someone in your workplace lately just to show you care? Is there someone you’re challenged to get along with? Do for them what you would like them to do for you. Take some time to listen and understand the cues they are giving you. Usually, just by listening, a co-worker will feel cared for and you might just make a new friend.
