Therefore let anyone who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall. 1 Corinthians 10:12 Israel, Gods chosen people - they witnessed miracle after miracle; The Red Sea parted allowing them to walk on dry land, food was provided in the form of manna that rained down from heaven every morning. Thirsty, water came from a rock. They witnessed the righteous wrath of God and His swift uncompromising punishment for disobedience – they saw how His burning anger towards them was turned away as Moses interceded for them. From Egypt to Canaan they went – to a land that God said was already theirs and still they doubted. I could sit here and say “How could they?” But I do not dare! I stand with a viselike grip on the Lord with one hand and yet with the other I try to pry myself loose – with doubt, wise in my own eyes or expectations for ‘my will’ not ‘the Lords will’ to be done and then I sprinkle it all with legalism as I look at my freedoms or restrictions and put them on someone else! ‘Take heed lest you fall’ - not an empty warning and great advice! So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
