“Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth - TopicsExpress

“Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:” Matthew 7:24 Giving, is a heart matter. Whatever is in your heart always manifest itself by the actions you take in life. People who are generous givers have a lot in common because they know, possessions and finances are only temporal. Rather than trying to grasp and hold on to whatever they have, they give. When we forget the temporal nature of our possessions, we spend our time and energy trying to protect what we have and constantly grasp for more. While the World equates money, prestige, and power to success, the Lord Jesus reminds us that the World’s success is only temporary. If we listen to the World, we are building on sand which will be washed away when the storms come. But if we listen to what the Lord says, we are secure. He is our Rock, our shelter in the time of storm. If we give all of our attention to the temporary nature of possessions, it’s clear that clothes wear out, computers die, glassware breaks, and coffee spills onto our recently purchased carpet. The signs are around us that this World, our possessions, and even our lives on this Earth and they are temporary. If we listen to our Lord Jesus we find our satisfaction and our security in Him and we are set free from the urgent gathering of Earthly success and possessions. We live the truth that Jesus is preparing us a mansion over the hill top! Amen. It will never fade, never wear out or require repairs. When we follow His teaching we are investing in Eternity. Remember, “only one life will be past, only what’s done for Christ will last.” Pastor Millett
