Theres More to this Water thats in the Well Sunday Morning Message: 9/15/2014 Pastor Ricky Dukes, Sr. In John 4, Jesus left from Judea and was heading toward Galilee, but the bible says he must needs go through Samaria v.4. Although the Samaritans were considered an inferior people, Jesus knew that, in that place, there was a need that only He could meet. His journey brought him to a well where he met a Samaritan woman who was shunned and looked down upon because of her loose lifestyle. Jesus could have belittled her, but she was already ostracized, excluded by her own. Even though that may have been what she deserved; He chose to draw her through love. As the truth went forth she became religious, defensive, and even evasive, but in the end truth and love prevailed. What she gained by taking a drink of the living water, filled a thirst that her soul had been longing to quench. She left her old water pot at the well, for she no longer had a need for it, and went into the city to testify of the deliverance in Jesus. Theres more to life than dipping into an empty well of sin and momentary pleasure that will never satisfy your soul. It will leave you seeking satisfaction, while drinking dead water. The water that Jesus Christ gives, will be a well of water that springs up into everlasting life. In the middle of tests, trials, and persecution, living water springs up. When facing difficulties on the job and in the home, the living water springs up. Theres more to the water in the well that Jesus has to give. Leave those old water pots at the well and drink from the fountain that never runs dry.
